In the beginning of the 21st century, immigrants were facing much less abuse than they were in the beginning of the 20th century. Racism, stereotypes, and prejudices still exist, but the attacks on racial groups have lessened considerably over the years.

Because of the attacks on the world trade center in 2001, many immigrants, especially Muslims, have faced more racism and prejudices. Though it is said that all are welcomed, it has been become more difficult for people from the Middle East to come into the United States in Recent years.
