21st Century Public Perception
During the Beginning of the 21st Century, immigration had been mostly accepted by America. New laws were enacted that limited the number of new immigrants every year, and By then it looked as if America had become more tolerant of new cultures. After the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, however, non-catholic races, especially Muslims, were targets of racism and paranoia.

Even in current times, concerns about illegal and legal immigration to the United States divides our country. Many say that it is taking American jobs, while others say that the United States' economy is built on immigrants.
